The Barbaric Bananas defeated the Mystical Mushrooms in a best
of five series 3-1.
Game
1: Bananas 4 Mushrooms 1
The
Bananas started off the series strong with a good defensive showing
backed by good goaltending from Wade Portitt while finding 4 goals along
the way to take game 1.
Game 2: Bananas 3 Mushrooms 1
Once
again the defense and goaltending of the Bananas proved to be a
strength for the team as only one goal was allowed by the Bananas which
helped them take a 2-0 series lead.
Game 3: Bananas 0 Mushrooms 1 OT
The
Bananas only gave up one goal in this game as well, but that was all
that the Mushrooms needed as the defense for the Mushrooms played the
best defensive game of the entire tournament. It took more than 3
periods but eventually Ford Faynor scored the overtime winner that was
the only goal of the game.
Game 4: Bananas 6 Mushrooms 2
This
game was a lot closer than the score line implies. After a tie game for
a long time the Bananas were able to take a 3-2 lead into the third
period. The Mushrooms needed to go all in on offense with the series on
the line which left the defense more vulnerable and led to the offensive
explosion from the Bananas to take the final game of the series. Rosters:
