FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF RESULTS
Monday April 8th
Maple Leafs 7 Red Wings 5
The Red Wings came to play after their two season absence from the playoffs, and with only slightly more than a minute gone in the first period took the lead on a Jayde Cournaya goal with Andrew Cwik and Austyn Fears getting the assists. The Leafs were able to tie it up however 19 seconds later when Lainey Tomko on defense got the puck up to center Dalton Hosey who passed over to Kyle Rose for a hard shot that found the back of the Wing net. Less than a minute and a half later Rose scored again from another Hosey pass to put the Maple leafs in the lead. With 3:11 left in the period however Jayde Cournaya again sored for the Wings when Chase Hughes on the defense  got the puck down to Fears in the corner who passed it out front for a Cournaya one-timer to the top of the net.
Most of the second period was tightly played, but at 2:53 to go Dalton Hosey stopped a clearing pass and smashed a hard shot into the Leaf net. He then only 16 seconds later scored again with assists going to Breonna Wilson and Trista Medina. The Wings again battled back with an Austyn Fears powerplay goal assisted by Ward Smith Jr. and Cwik. With only 42 seconds remaining in the period however McKayla Brighton on the Leaf defense got the puck up to Hosey who again was able to beat the Wing goaltender and get back the two goal lead.
At 6:16 left in the third Medina scored out in front on a nice pass from Rose who had picked up a Lane Morris pass in the corner to put the Leafs up by three. Then at 4:34 Hosey again collected a clearing pass and scored to put them up by four. The Wings were however not giving up, and Austyn Fears scored twice, both on Jayde Cournaya passes, before the buzzer sounded to end the contest.
Northstars 7 Blues 2
The Stars got on the board first at 7:01 of the opening period on a Lane Pixley shot after he got the puck from Brianna Kikendall. The Blues Dylan Wagner stole the puck from the Northstars at 5:36 and smashed it hard to tie the game at one apiece. With 2:38 to play in the first the Stars again took the lead on an Eston Sheldon goal
with Pixley getting the assist. Wagner once again tied it up with a hard shot after getting a Gage Garrett pass with only 50 seconds left in the period.
The Northstars really put pressure on the Blues in the second period with Billy Nelson getting the first goal at 8:13 after a pass from Pixley. He then assisted on another Sheldon goal at 7:46 with sister Hannah also getting an assist from the defense.  At 6:54 Lane took a pass from rookie Celeste Feasel and got it over to Kikendall for her second goal.
The Blues weren't able to get too much pressure on the Stars goal in the third and Sheldon scored his third goal at 8:23 with Kikendall assisting. At 4:20 Sheldon returned the favor after getting a pass from Cassidy Simpson on the defense by passing to Kikendall for the final goal of the game.

Friday April 12th
Blackhawks 4 Canadiens 2
The Canadiens got the first goal of the game at 5:58 when Tre Sisson pressured a Hawk defense to try a risky pass up the middle in front of the Blackhawk goal where it hit the other defense and ended up in the net. The period ended without any further scoring although both goalies had to make several saves.
With only 11 seconds played in the second period Tristan Cole took a Tristyn Collins faceoff win and smashed it in to the Canadien net. At the 8:42 mark Nick Martin won a faceoff then collected the puck and fired it into the Hawk net to put his team back in the lead. As the period was only three seconds from being over Cole Clark from the defense passed up to Collins who sent it over to Payton Bolton who crushed one into the Canadien goal.
At the 7:47 mark of the third Tristan Cole got his second goal to put the Hawks in the lead for the first time in the game, when he took a clearing pass and sent a looping shot that found the back of the net. The Canadiens then really pressed to try to tie things back up. Hawk goalie Hazi Lynn Stephens however, stopped everything thrown her way.  With only 2:50 to play rookie Thomas Gordon on the Blackhawk defense sent the puck down to the Canadien end where Payne Stephens was able to find Tristan Cole who beat goalie Austin Shantz, (who really had played a strong game), for his hat trick. Although the Canadiens continued to press, the clock ran out giving the Hawks the win.
Rangers 2 Flyers 0
This was a defensive battle right from the start with no scoring until with nine seconds to go in the period Carson Hasselback took a Annica Barlow pass and sent a weak bouncing shot that skipped past Flyer goalie Dylan Humble to give the Rangers the lead.
The second period saw the Rangers defense keep the pressure on Humble, but although much of the preiod was played in the Flyer end of the floor the score remained the same.
In the third period again the Ranger defense kept the Flyers penned in much of the time, but finally with only a minute 58 seconds to go Carson Hasselback took a Barlow pass and smashed a hard shot that deflected off  forward Andrew Sebastian in front of the Flyer net to give the Rangers their second goal and the last soring of the game. Goalie David Hosack-Frizzell held the Flyers scoreless in the first and third periods and Carson Hasselback stopped all shots on goal in the second period for the Rangers.

SEMI-FINAL RESULTS
Monday April 15th
RANGERS 3 MAPLE LEAFS 2 (Triple Overtime)
The Rangers came out with a real rush at the start of the game with some early pressure that paid off in a goal. Center Carson Hasselback got the puck up to Annica Barlow on the left wing who shot it into the right corner where the right side forward rookie Andrew Andrew Sebastian smashed a hard shot from a bad angle that suprised goalie Breonna Wison and deflected off her into the net at 9:08. The Leafs came back at 5:43 with a powerplay goal by Kyle Rose (assisted by Trista Medina and Dalton Hosey) after the Rangers had gotten a little too aggressive and ended up with two players in the penalty box.
The second period found play going back and forth with both sides defense playing well and not letting many good chances on net happen.
The Rangers again took the lead with a third period powerplay goal on a laser like blast from the defense by Quentin Faynor at 8:44.  At 6:42 however Dalton Hosey (last year's KFHL Playoff MVP),was able to steal the puck and get free for a moment from the persistant Ranger checking on him to smash a hard shot into the Ranger net. Although the Leafs went on another powerplay with, Faynor off  for roughing again soon after Hosey's goal, they weren't able to capitalize and  soon after the game went into overtime.
The Ranger defense of Faynor,Duncan Sueme and Corbin Hasselback had a great game. The Leaf defense of Mckayla Brighton, Lainey Tomko, and Jade Scott  also played one of their best games ever. Both defensive untis took a beating on blocking shots. Brighton took a hard  Ranger shot that hit her in the throat and put her on the bench briefly, but she came right back on for her next shift. The Ranger's Sueme  stopped a hard Leaf blast with his face, but didn't want to leave the floor and came right back  on a minute or two later. Centers Hosey and Lane Morris for the Leafs as well as Barlow and Carson Hasselback  for the Rangers  were excellent playing in their own ends keeping the number of quality shots on goal down during the game.
Breonna Wilson was in goal for the Leafs during the first and third periods as well as the first overtime with Kyle Rose covering their net during the second period as well as the second and third overtime. David Hosak-Frizzell went all the way as netminder, (in this the longest of KFHL games in its 25 year history)  for the Rangers !
The third overtime opened as the first two had with the offensive players being forced to the side and not able to get much on net. At exactly two minutes into it however Andrew Sebastian, who had scored the first goal of the game ended it. Annica Barlow had managed to get to the puck on a Leaf clearing attempt and dump it into the right corner where Sebastian fought off the defense and snapped off a hard shot from an almost impossible angle that got between Rose and the right post to win it for the Rangers.
The large crowd at the game gave both teams a hand for there hard work.
NORTHSTARS 5 BLACKHAWKS 4
The Blackhawks came out thinking upset too after seeing the Ranger hard fought victory over the Leafs. At 8:30 Payton Bolton hit the back of the Northstar net after taking a pass from Payne Stephens and then at 6:13 did it again with Stepens and Tristin Clark assisting. The Stars, who had had some chances, but hadn't been able to get anything passed Hawk goalie Hazi Lyn Stephens up to this point, had their spirts lifted when Center Lane Pixley scored at 4:14 after grabbing a clearing pass. At 3:26 however the Blackhawks scoed again as Payton Bolton let loose a blistering drive on net that Star goalie Colin Thames was able to block, but the rebound bounced out to Rookie Hanna Reid who fired it past him into the net.
The Northstars came out for the second period determined not to let the game get away from them. Only 8 seconds after the puck was dropped Billy Nelson scored with Lane Pixley and Eston Sheldon assisting. He then at 3:38 on a pass from Sheldon tied the game up. Just 11 seconds later Brianna Kikendall put the Stars ahead when Brenna Simpson from the defense sent the puck ahead to Sheldon who found Kikendall in front of the Hawk's net. With 2:15 remaining in the period however, Payne Stephens tied things back up from a Tristan Cole pass.
The Third period remained a tie until Lane Pixley was able to send the puck into the right corner where rookie Northstar Celeste Feasel passed out front to the waiting Sheldon who was able to slap in what turned out to be the winning goal at 6:56. The Blackhawks didn't go down easily, getting several more shots on goal, even pulling their goalie  and having pressure in the Northstars end as the buzzer went.

PLAYOFF FINAL GAME

FRIDAY APRIL 19th
NORTHSTARS 6 RANGERS 2
The Rangers struck first at 8:15 of the first period when Quentin Faynor from the defense sent the puck over to Andrew Sebastian on the right side of the Stars end  and he sent a pass in front of the net where Annica Barlow was waiting to slap it in. The Northstars came back at 7:36 when center Lane Pixley got the puck ahead to Eston Sheldon who banged it into the Ranger net. Only 8 seconds later the same combination put the Stars in the lead with a similar play. At 5:59 Northstar rookie Celeste Feasel pushed a weak shot at the net that Ranger goalie collected easily, but as he tried to toss the puck off to the other side it stuck in his glove and ended up going into the net instead for what turned out to be the winning goal.
In the second period the Stars struck again at 8:40 on a blast by Billy Nelson who had gotten the the puck from Hanna Pixley on the defense. Lane Pixley at 5:07 then set up Briana Kikendall for a hard shot that added to the Northstar lead.
The Rangers came out for the third period to try and get back in the game and after only 44 seconds they got another goal from Barlow with Faynor and Carson Hasselback assisting. They weren't able however to get anything else past Northstar goalie Collin Thames for the rest of the contest ,and in fact the Stars at 5:45 of the period got one more goal from Nelson with Kikendall and Feasel assisting.
