SENATORS
4 RED WINGS 2
The Red Wings jumped
off to an early first period lead on a Wyatt Ledford goal from Tanner Brownell and Matt Christianson, but with only 17 seconds
left in the period the Senators got even on a Gunner Tobias score from Nick Iszler and Corey Turner. It stayed tied
for most of the second, then with a little over a minute to go in that period Iszler lifted one into the top part of the Wing
net. The Senators got a second goal in the period with only 5 seconds to go when Cody Dixon smacked one in that Izler and
Turner assisted on. In the middle of the period third nice pass from the defense by Tesla Meade sprung Greg Glass loose and
he shot one passed Senator goalie Olivia Ricketts to make it a one goal game. The Red Wings pressed hard and forced Ricketts
to make some key saves, but finally with only a couple minutes left Iszler scored again with assists going to Tobias and Greenfield
to put the game on ice.
PENGUINS 4 BLACKHAWKS 3
The Blackhawks took the lead early
in the first on a Troy Allen goal set up by Andrew Brighton. Less than a minute into the second period the same two combined
again to put the Hawks up by two. At about the midpoint of the second however Josh Sanchez scored with Rod Bement and
Tad Mead assisting and early in the third Sanchez did it again with help from Rod bement and Matt Wehr. At 5:48
Ryan Myall put one across the goal line on a pass from Mike Foley. The Blackhawks were able to tie it back up with
1:04 remaining on a shorthanded goal by Tyler Kerjes, but seconds later Foley got the puck from Wehr out near the centerline
and scorched a hard shot that went just inside the post to give the Penguins the win.
Senators
7 Penguins 0
The Penguins played
tough, but a combination of great offensive attack, defensive play, and goal tending from the Senators made the score onesided.
Devin Greenfield had athe first goal and five assists to lead the attack for the Senators. Gunner Tobias had a hat trick,
while Cody Dixon, Nick Iszler, and Corey Turner also had goals. Goalie Olivia Ricketts made some impressive saves to preserve
the shutout, but the Senator defense of Jake Clark, Alexandria Ermel, and Kyle Fletcher in particular kept the Penguin offensive
players on the outside for most of the game.
