2012 PLAYOFF 1ST ROUND GAMES
MARCH 9TH
BLUES 4 BLACKHAWKS O
THE BLUES CAME OUT HARD AND JUMPED OFF TO A 2 GOAL LEAD AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF MINUTES IN THE FIRST PERIOD ON GOALS BY ALEXANDER TROWBRIDGE AND DYLAN WAGNER. THEN WITH ONLY 16 SECONDS LEFT IN THE PERIOD KYLE ROSE BLASTED IN A THIRD GOAL FOR THEM FROM THE DEFENSE. IN MIDDLE OF THE SECOND PERIOD EMILY ISZLER DROVE HOME THE FOURTH BLUES GOAL. DEKOTA WAGNER IN GOAL FOR THE BLUES WAS FLAWLESS IN STOPPING THE FEW CHANCES THE BIG HAWK SHOOTERS WERE ABLE TO GET AGAINST A TOUGH BLUES DEFENSE.
MAPLE LEAFS 5 RANGERS 1
THE MAPLE LEAF DEFENSE MADE THE RANGERS PLAY IN THEIR OWN END FOR MOST OF THIS GAME WITH RANGER GOALIE CARSON HASSELBACK BEING FORCED TO MAKE SAVE AFTER SAVE. CARTER TOMKO SCORED THE ONLY GOAL OF THE FIRST PERIOD. DALTON HOSEY AND TRISTA MEDINA EACH HAD A GOAL IN THE SECOND PERIOD FOR THE LEAFS. THE RANGERS STARTED OFF THE THIRD PERIOD WITH A BROCK HORTON TALLY, BUT THEN BOTH HOSEY AND TOMKO HAD A SECOND GOAL TO PUT THE GAME OUT OF REACH.

MARCH 10TH
NORTHSTARS 3 PENGUINS 0
THE PENGUINS MADE THIS A CLOSE GAME, BUT THEY COULDN'T GET ANYTHING PAST STARS GOALIE COLLIN THAMES AGAIN. THE STARS YOUNG DEFENSE GAVE THEIR FORWARDS LOTS OF TIME IN THE PENS END OF THE FLOOR AND MICHAEL  ROYAL HAD TWO GOALS AND ESTON SHELDON ONE.
CANADIENS 3 FLYERS 2  OT
AFTER A SCORELESS FIRST PERIOD THE FLYERS KATIE CHUHAK PUT THEM IN THE LEAD IN THE SECOND WITH A FRONT OF THE GOAL SHOT. THE CANADIENS TIED IT UP ON A PAYTON BOLTON GOAL JUST 15 SECONDS LATER, AND THEY THEN WENT INTO THE LEAD WITH A SHORTHANDED GOAL BY NICK MARTIN. WITH ONLY 20 SECONDS GONE IN THE THIRD PERIOD GAVIN BOOHER GRABBED A CLEARING PASS FROM THE DEFENSE AND PUT IT INTO THE CANADIEN NET TO TIE THINGS UP. THOUGH BOTH TEAMS HAD CHANCES, IT REMAINED TIED AND SENT THE GAME INTO OVERTIME. THE FLYERS FOUGHT OFF A PENALTY EARLY IN THE OVERTIME AND WERE LATER FORTUNATE WHEN A SHOT THAT ELUDED THE GOALIE, HIT THE POST, AND WAS RULED NOT TO HAVE COMPLETELY CROSSED THE GOAL LINE. HOWEVER, THEIR LUCK RAN OUT WHEN IN A GOAL MOUTH SCRAMBLE, WITH ONLY 2:02 LEFT IN THE OVERTIME PERIOD GAGE SISSONS PUSHED IT INTO THE NET AND GAVE THE CANADIENS THE VICTORY.

SEMI-FINAL GAMES
MARCH 12TH
BLUES 2 CANADIENS 1
AFTER A FIRST PERIOD THAT SAW THE CANADIENS GETTING THE BETTER CHANCES THE BLUES DEFENCE (AVIANNA ROBINSON) GOT THE PUCK UP TO FORWARD DYLAN WAGNER WHO SCORED TO PUT THEM IN THE LEAD WITH ONLY 34 SECONDS LEFT IN THE PERIOD. THE SECOND PERIOD FOUND CAYDEN COURTER SMASHING ONE INTO THE BACK OF THE BLUES NET AFTER SOME HARD WORK BY CENTER PAYTON BOLTON AND FORWARD GAGE SISSONS GOT IT TO HIM IN FRONT. IT REMAINED TIED THROUGH THE THIRD PERIOD AS BOTH TEAMS DEFENSE AND GOALIES WERE PLAYING VERY WELL. THE CANADIEN DEFENSE PLAYER RYLEIGH COURTER AND THEIR GOALIE SAM MARTIN WERE PARTICULARLY OUTSTANDING ALL GAME. EARLY IN THE OVERTIME THE BLUES ALEXANDER TROWBRIDGE PUT THEM  IN A SHORTHANDED SITUATION WITH A PENALTY FOR INTERFERING WITH THE GOALIE. LUCKLY FOR HIM HIS TEAM WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE PENALY KILL AND WITH ONLY 1:18 LEFT IN THE OVERTIME PERIOD HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE WINNING GOAL!
MAPLE LEAFS 2 NORTHSTARS 1
THE NORTHSTARS GOT OFF TO AN EARLY LEAD WHEN ESTON SHELDON ON THEIR LEAGUE LEADING POWERPLAY SCORED LESS THAN TWO MINUTES INTO THE CONTEST. KOLTEN HOSEY TIED IT UP FOR THE LEAFS IN THE SECOND PERIOD WHEN HE CAPTURED A CLEARING PASS AND SMASHED THE PUCK INTO THE STAR NET. WITH 2:16 LEFT TO GO IN THE SAME PERIOD TRISTA MEDINA IN FRONT OF THE NORTHSTAR NET ONE TIMED A PERFECT PASS FROM CLAY FLOWER INTO THE TOP OF NET.  COLLIN THAMES HAD NO CHANCE ON THAT SHOT, BUT KEPT HIS TEAM IN THE GAME BY NOT ALLOWING ANOTHER GOAL THE REST OF THE WAY. THE LEAF DEFENSE OF MIKAYLA BRIGHTON, HEATH FLOWER, BROOKLYN SCOTT, AND TARYN MEDINA, (PLAYING D FOR A CHANGE), HOWEVER JUST KEPT THE HIGH POWERED STAR OFFENSE FROM GETTING MANY CHANCES THE REST OF THE WAY.
2012 FINAL GAME
MARCH 16TH
MAPLE LEAFS  4 BLUES 1
The 1st period was scoreless with each teams fine defense pairs keeping everything to the outside and allowing very few shots to actually get through to the goalies.
At 9:38 of the 2nd period however some hard work by forward Lainey Tomko paid off as she was able to deflect an attempt by the the Blues defense to clear the puck to a waiting Dalton Hosey who wasted no time in shooting a rather weak shot that just caught the left post of the net and bounced in for a leaf score. The rest of the period went back and forth with again the defensive players keeping the shots on goal to a minimum and the two goalies stopping everything that did get to them.
The 3rd period began with again the defensive players on both teams not allowing many good chances, but at 7:58 defenseman Heath Flowers grabbed the puck at center and smashed a hard skipping shot that hopped over Blues goalie Dekota Wagner for a second Leaf goal. The Maple Leaf attack increased, and just over a minute later  Dalton Hosey knocked the puck into the corner where Carter Tomko was able to make a pretty pass through traffic to the goal mouth where a waiting Trista Medina  found the back of the Blues net with a hard one timer. Less than two minutes later Hosey again scored for the Leafs when he collected a loose puck near center and smashed a shot past the Blues goalie. The Blues didn't quit however and with a little less than three minutes remaining in the period Alexander Trowbridge smashed a puck from a scramble near the goal to spoil Maple Leaf goalie Karlee Wells shutout attempt. The Leafs were then able to run out the clock, despite good Blues pressure, to get their first KFHL Playoff Championship since 1997.
