First Round Games
MARCH 5th
KINGS 3 BLUES 1
The Kings scored first on a hard Marcus Wesner drive with 6:10 to go in the first and then took a two goal lead with a little over a minute to go in the first on a shorthanded goal by Aaron Knoll. Although the Kings pressed hard Blues goalie Cassidy Fisher held them scoreless in the second period and at 7:58 of the third period Blue's forward Dylan Wagner spoiled the King's goalie Jonah Denton's bid for a shutout. About half way through the period Aaron Knoll got another goal for the Kings after some hard work by Jason Green set him up in front of the Blues net.
FLYERS 1 BLACKHAWKS 0
This game was scoreless for the first two periods as Hawk goalie Tannis Thayer and Flyer goalie Trent Carpenter kept the puck in front of them for twenty minutes. The Flyers changed goalies in the third with Matthew Braden coming in to keep the Blackhawks off the scoreboard. The games only goal came on a dump in by Flyer defenseman Nolan Gilson that was collected and smashed to the net from the corner by Logan Boldrey beating Thayer and sending the Flyers to the Semi-Finals on Monday.

MARCH 6th
BRUINS 3 PENGUINS 1
The Penguins took the lead less than two minutes into this one when the Bruin defense coughed up the puck directly in front of their net.  Toree Heney took advantage of the mistake and smashed it passed Bruin goalie Nick Caldwell who then went on to stop everything the Penguins could get on net for the rest of the game. With only 5 seconds to go in that period Michael Royal took a Seth Gurd pass and fired it into the top of the Penguin goal to tie up the contest. Karley Childers smashed in a nice Collyn Tuller pass in the second period and then Tuller hammered home a goal of his own in the third to complete the scoring. Penguin goalie Logan Leatherman made many good saves in the losing cause.
RED WINGS 6 CANADIENS 4
This game saw the Red Wings lead and the Canadiens tie it up again on three occasions and the Canadiens lead briefly as well once. Nick Allwardt had a hat trick for the Wings and Eddie Garfield had a goal, but it was Erin French's score with only 7 seconds to go in the game that won it for them. Jarrett Hickey also had an empty net goal with 4 seconds on the clock for the Wings. Alex Musser had two of the Canadien goals with Gage Merica and Nick Martin getting the other ones.

Semi -Finals MONDAY MARCH 8TH

 KINGS 9 RED WINGS 4

The Kings took the lead 25 seconds into the game on a Jason Green goal from a scramble in front of the Wing net and just didn't give the Red Wings a chance to get back in the game. Evan Adrianson had four goals and Aaron Knoll three with Marcus Wesner getting the other King goal. Red Wing Nick Allwardt scored twice for the Red Wings with Jarrett Hickey and Erin French picking up their other goals.

 FLYERS 5 BRUINS 3

The Flyers jumped on the Bruins with two goals in the first minute of the first period of this one and although they fought back the 2010 "Cinderella" Flyers were able to hold on and will go to the Final on Thursday. Liam Boldrey scored their first goal just 7 seconds into the contest and also their last in the third period to give them back their two goal cushion. Mark Dixon also had a fine game for the Flyers with two goals besides assisting on both of Boldrey's. Alexis Perez had the other Flyer goal. Bruin goals were by Karley Childers, Logan Ramey, and Seth Gurd.

FINAL GAME MARCH 11th
KINGS 3 FLYERS 2
The Flyers jumped into the lead on a Mark Dixon smash from the top of the circle with 2:12 to go in the first period. The King's star defenseman Grant Adrianson soon evened it up with a smash of his own. His strong defensive play had been keeping the Kings winning all season long and had continued into the earlier playoff wins. His goal near the end of the first period gave the Kings back their confidence and about halfway through the second period his brother Evan who had led the KFHL in goals this season with 25 took a Jason Green pass and found the back of the Flyer net. The Flyer's Logan Boldrey evened it back up however before the end of the period with a sharply hit shot from a bad angle that surprised the King goalie and fell into the net. The Flyer defense played well all night against the high scoring King team, but finally in the third period the King's forward line of Jason Green, Aaron Knoll, and center Marcus Wesner were able to keep the puck in the Flyer end long enough for a Wesner blast to get into the top corner of the net. The Kings were able to fight off the Flyers from there on out even when they pulled their goalie for the extra attacker.
So ended one of the best KFHL Playoff Final games in the league's 22 years of play. We hope this won't be the last game played by the KFHL in the Kellogg Gym, but it may well have been.
