of the second period, but the Red Wings Wyatt Ledford answered back less than a minute later. Just five seconds after that
the Senators got another goal from Corey Turner on a nice passing play, but the tough Wing defense was able to shut down the
Senators offense the rest of the way to maintain the victory.

PLAYOFF
FINAL GAME
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Saturday MARCH 15th
The first
period was scoreless as both teams defense kept either team from getting any really good second chances and both goalies made
good stops on the shots that did get to the net.
Near the
beginning of the second period Tanner Brownell of the Wings beat Kenny Christopher the Hawk goale on a hard smash, but though
the Red Wings pressed for more the Hawk D and Christopher held firm and a few minutes later one of the youngest Blackhawks,
Drew Allen, laced a shot high into the Wing net. Both teams went back and forth without result until with 2:05 remaining a
hard 5 hole Andrew Brighton shot was able to just get acoss the goal line on a powerplay. About 30 seconds later Drew Allen
again was able to put a shot upstairs into the Red Wing net to give the Hawks a Two goal lead going into the third period.
In the third
period the Blackhawk goalie Christopher made several good saves that showed why he would be the Playoff MVP. Tyler Kersjes
smashed another goal into the upper part of the net to give the Blackhawks a three goal margin to protect for the last half
of the period.
With this win the
Hawks were Playoff Champs for the first time since 1995.
