First Round Game Results
Monday March 10th
Red Wings 7 Bruins 1
The Wings defense kept the Bruins in their end much of this game. Mike Mesler had a hat trick and Wyatt Ledford had two goals, with Nick Allwardt and Katie Blodgett each getting one.The lone Bruin goal was scored by Anthony Mahler who played an excellent final KFHL game.

Kings 2 Northstars 1
The Stars Jacob Wessner scored with 2:38 left in the first period to give them the lead. About midway in the second the Kings Jonah Denton tied it up and then early in the third period Aaron Knoll found the back of the net to put the Kings ahead. The Northstars pressed hard the remainder of the game, including pulling their goalie in the last couple of minutes, but the Kings held on to win the first playoff game they were in since the 2000 season.

Thursday March 13th
Blackhawks 1 Blues 0
This was one of the best played games by both teams of the year. Both defense played very well and the goal tending by Blues Goalie Tyler Bushey (who only allowed the Blackhawks one goal) and Kenny Christopher (who got the shutout) was great with both making several nice saves. The only goal scored in the game was at about the mid point of the second period by Michaela Johnson who patiently waited in front of the Blues goal for a pass from the Brighton boys Andrew & Jacob. She was covered by the Blue defense, but was able to lift a shot into the net for what turned out to be the winner.

Senators 4 Penguins 2
The Senators jumped off to a two goal lead early in the first period on goals by the regular season goal leader Gunner Tobias and one by Alec Hosmer on a pass from Tobias (Corey Turner had assists on both these goals).
The Penguins got one back before the period was over however on a Toree Heney goal on a quick pass out front from Zackary Rosenberger. Both teams weren't able to find the back of the net in the second, but the Senators Savanah Ackett was able to wack a Katie Dixon pass in early in the third to open a two goal lead again. The Penguins were able to climb back to within one on a Josh Sanchez powerplay goal on a Zackary Bement pass just a couple minutes later. With less than two minutes to go in the game however Gunner Tobias came up with the puck in front of the Pens net and made no mistake to give the Senators back the two goal lead for good.

FRIDAY MARCH 14th
RED WINGS 4 SENATORS 2
The Red Wings jumped out to a two goal lead in the first period on goals by Tanner Brownell and Mike Messler. Brownell scored another(this one while the Wings were shorthanded) early in the second. The Senators battled back with a Alec Hosmer goal at about the half way mark of the second period, but the Red Wings Wyatt Ledford answered back less than a minute later. Just five seconds after that the Senators got another goal from Corey Turner on a nice passing play, but the tough Wing defense was able to shut down the Senators offense the rest of the way to maintain the victory.
BLACKHAWKS 3 KINGS 2
The Hawks took a two goal lead in the first period on two goals by Tyler Kersjes. The Kings evened things up in the second however on a pair by Brandon Kenyon. In the third the Blackhawks went ahead to stay when a Troy Allen shot hit the corner of the net and when in with about 4 minutes to play.

PLAYOFF FINAL GAME
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Saturday MARCH 15th
The first period was scoreless as both teams defense kept either team from getting any really good second chances and both goalies made good stops on the shots that did get to the net.
Near the beginning of the second period Tanner Brownell of the Wings beat Kenny Christopher the Hawk goale on a hard smash, but though the Red Wings pressed for more the Hawk D and Christopher held firm and a few minutes later one of the youngest Blackhawks, Drew Allen, laced a shot high into the Wing net. Both teams went back and forth without result until with 2:05 remaining a hard 5 hole Andrew Brighton shot was able to just get acoss the goal line on a powerplay. About 30 seconds later Drew Allen again was able to put a shot upstairs into the Red Wing net to give the Hawks a Two goal lead going into the third period.
In the third period the Blackhawk goalie Christopher made several good saves that showed why he would be the Playoff MVP. Tyler Kersjes smashed another goal into the upper part of the net to give the Blackhawks a three goal margin to protect for the last half of the period.
With this win the Hawks were Playoff Champs for the first time since 1995.
