BRUINS 8 BLACKHAWKS 3
The Bruins came out firing in the first period with Alivia
Johncock getting the first goal of the 2006 season just 31 seconds into the game on a pass from Harlee Houghton who then went
on to score two goals of her own in the first period. Matt Ramey and Cody Sivyer also found the back of the net as well in
the first for the Bruins who went on to get shorthanded goals from Joey Currier and Micah Weatherwax as well as a powerplay
tally from Shilo Scott. Blackhawk goals came from Troy Allen, Austin Furlong, and Jordanna Whipple.
PENGUINS 3 FLYERS 2
This was a tight contest that was only settled with 48
seconds left to play when Kolt Ewing scored his second goal of the night when he cut off a clearing pass from the Flyer defense
in front of the net. Rodney Bement also scored for the Pens. Flyers Robert Patchett & Dylan Kennedy accounted for their
two goals
RANGERS 2 BLUES 0
Ranger Goalie Sydney Khouri turned back all Blues shots to record the
first shutout of the 2006 campaign. The Ranger defense gave Khouri good support and Alex Slee scored the two goals for the
victory.
FRIDAY Jan.
13th
NORTHSTARS
2 KINGS 2
The Kings Samantha Denton scored with only
one second to go in the first period and the second period was scoreless. in the third the Northstars scored twice (Garret
Mater & Katelyn Varney) within thirty seconds near the middle of the period, but Samantha Denton scored again for the
Kings with only 2:45 to go to end it in a tie.
RED WINGS
4 CANADIENS 1
The Canadiens took the lead in this one in the second period, but less than
a minute later Nick Ledford scored for the Wings to tie it up. The Red Wings then got two more from Slade Meade and one more
from Tyler Hickey before it was done.
SENATORS 2 MAPLE LEAFS 0
Leaf goalie Jon Anders kept his team in this
game with some great saves on Senator shooters, but Cody Dixon and Nick Iszler were able to get goals passed him to win it.
Dylan Fisher in goal for the Senators was sharp when he needed to be for the shutout. Both teams defense played well.
SATURDAY
Jan. 14th
BLACKHAWKS 4 CANADIENS 3
The Blackhawks got two goals each from Jordanna
Whipple and Andrew Brighton for the victory. The Canadiens ( who spent too much time in the penalty box) had goals from Gabriel
Gorton, Colyn Reed, and Jake Ewing.
MAPLE LEAFS 2 RANGERS 0
Leaf goalie Jon Anders stopped everything
that the Rangers could shoot at him to get his first shutout of 06. Maple Leaf goals were scored by Katelyn Rae Wilson and
Tanin Eckhoff.
BRUINS 5 PENGUINS 5
The Pens jumped off to a three goal lead in this one, but
the Bruins came back to get the lead by the the end of the second period. After the Penguins tied it up in the third the Bruins
took the lead again and it looked like they had the win until Matt Wehr scored the third of his hat trick with only a second
on the clock to get the Peguins the tie. Michael Foley and Rodney Bement also had Pen Goals. The Bruin scores came from Matthew
Ramey, Jenny Powers,Cody Sivyer,Alivia Johncock, and a pretty goal from the defense by Amber Burhans.
NORTHSTARS 3 FLYERS 2
The Northstars had goals in the first
from Jessica (Bug)Rushford on a power play and a hard shot from the defense by Robbie Welch. In the second Rage Sheldon scored
for the Stars to give them a 3 goal lead before the Flyers stormed back on goals by Savannah Gross and Dylan Kennedy to bring
them within one. Although the Flyers pressed hard during the third ( including some time on the powerplay) the Northstars
held them off for the win.
MONDAY Jan.
16th
BLUES 3
BLACKHAWKS 2
The Blackhawk's Troy Allen scored the only
goal of the first period and Andrew Brighton made it 2 to 0 with a powerplay goal just 31 seconds into the middle period.
The Blues came back late in the second on goals by Taylor Goodnoe and Kyle Spencer to tie it up. Macy Mund had the only goal
of the 3rd to give the Blues their first victory of 06.
SENATORS 2 NORTHSTARS 1
All the scoring in
this one came in the first with Austin Tobias getting two for the Senators(one shorthanded) and Garret Mater collecting a
powerplay tally for the Stars. The rest of the game was scoreless due to fine defensive play by the Senators who kept the
puck in the Northstar's end most of the game and some excellent goaltending by the Star's goalie Nick Matheson to keep the
game close to the end.
BRUINS 7 KINGS 2
The Bruins continued their high scoring ways in this one
with two goals from Micah Weatherwax and one each from Joey Currier, Shilo Scott, Cody Sivyer, Alivia Johncock, and Matthew
Ramey. The Kings got one goal apiece from Tommy Mudge and Samantha Denton.
FRIDAY JAN. 20th
BLACKHAWKS
5 PENGUINS 3
Blackhawk's goal scoring was done by Jordanna
Whipple(2),Troy Allen,Makayla Lee, and Tyler Kersjes. The Penguins had one from Michael Foley and two by Matt Wehr.
CANADIENS 3 FLYERS 2
The Flyers led much of the way in this one
on goals from Timara Burd and Joe Eddy, but came up again one goal short. Canadien goal scores were Jake Ewing(2) and Mitchell
Frailey.
MAPLE LEAFS 5 RED WINGS 1
The Wings got there only
goal from Anthony Christianson with Leaf Goalie Jon Anders stopping everthing else(with some help from
a tough Maple Leaf defense). Leaf goals came from Brandon Anders(from the defense),Allee McIntyre,Donald Hampton, and a pair
from Tanin Eckhoff.
Saturday Jan. 21st
RANGERS
4 KINGS 0
Ranger goalie Sydney Khouri got her 2nd shutout
of the 2006 KFHL season stopping all King shots. The Rangers got a shothanded goal in the first period from Darius France,
goals from Robbie Hanford & Kody Seldon in the second, and a third period tally from Mckenna Hammond.
MAPLE LEAFS 3 BLACKHAWKS 2
Tanin
Eckhoff continued his hot play for the Leafs collecting a hat trick and goalie Jon Anders made some great stops to cause the
Blackhawks to come up short in this close one. Both Blackhawk goals came from Jordanna Whipple who has been on a real goal
scoring binge for the Hawks this season so far.
CANADIENS 4 BLUES 1
Jake Ewing had another great game for the
Habs with a hat trick and Pashka Mishkin had one goal for them as well. The Blues were only able to get one from Kyle Spencer
as the Canadien defense kept the Blues in their own end for much of the game.
SENATORS 5 PENGUINS 0
Dylan Fisher got his second 2006 shutout as
he and the Senator D kept the Penguins from making this contest a close one. Nick Iszler picked up a hat trick and Cody Dixon
had two goals as these two provided all the scoring the Sens needed for the second straight game.
Monday Jan. 23rd
NORTHSTARS
3 CANADIENS 0
The Canadiens couldn't
get too much going against the Stars defense and whenever they did goalie Nick Matheson was up to the challenge in getting
his first shutout of the 2006 season. Northstars had goals from "Mean Gretchen" Hakenjos, Garret Mater, and an empty net tally
from Rage Sheldon in the last second of the game.
KINGS 3 RED WINGS 2
The Kings took this one on three second period
goals from Samantha Denton(on a powerplay)and two(one shorthanded) by Jenniffer Porter. Red Wing goals were by Tyler
Hickey and Slade Meade.
MAPLE LEAFS 4 BLUES 2
Leaf defense and good goaltending by Jon Anders
were again the main factors in this game as the Blues played much of the game in their own end. The Maple Leafs
got two goals from red hot Tanin Eckhoff as well as one each from Allee McIntyre and Jaime Curth. The only scores from
the Blues came on an unusual turnover by the Leaf D in which Kyle Spencer capitalized and a scorching smash past Anders
by Taylor Goodnoe both in the third period.
Jan. 27th
KINGS 10 FLYERS 2
People who had been expecting the King's
scorers to break out at some point this season had a chance to see it in this contest.In the first period both Tommy Mudge
& Jenniffer Porter had hat tricks(Mudge later scored again and had 4 assists on the evening as well). Other King
goals were by Anthony Mahler(who also had 4 assistsin the game),Zachery Wolcott, and Jordan Denton. Flyer goals were by Dylan
Kennedy and Joe Eddy.
BRUINS 2 MAPLE LEAFS 1
This was a close one that saw Leaf goalie Jon Anders
keep his team in it with some great saves. Micah Weatherwax scored in the first period for the Bruins, but about a minute
later Allee McIntyre tied it up on one of the few chances the Bruin defense allowed on their net. The game remained that way,
although the Bruins had several great scoring chances, until about 1/2 way through the third when Cody Sivyer was able to
get the winner past Anders. Rookie goalie Jesse Powers wasn't worked as hard as the Leaf goalie, but played well to get the
Bruins the victory.
RED WINGS 4 BLUES 1
The Wings took the lead on a Cody Wilmath shot that deflected off the
Blues defense in the first period and then the game stayed 1 to 0 until the last half of the third period When Tyler Hickey
scored for the Red Wings.
The Blues Kyle Spencer brought his team back within one with
a little over a minute left in the game, but in the closing seconds Hickey scored again and with only one second left Slade
Meade also put one in for the Wings as well. Blue goalie Dale Laverty again had a good game in net despite suffering another
loss.
Jan. 28th
PENGUINS 4 RANGERS 3
The Penguins got two goals from Kolt Ewing and one each from Matt Wehr
and Rodney Bement to defeat the Rangers in a close contest. Ranger goals were by Robbie Hanford, Analisa Gordon, and Alex
Slee.
BLUES 5 KINGS 3
The Blues had 4 goals from Seth Earl and one from Kyle
Spencer to defeat the Kings. Goals for the Kings were by Tommy Mudge(2) and Clint Franklin,
SENATORS 3 RED WINGS 3
The Red Wings came back to earn a tie
with goals coming from Slade Meade, Greg Glass, and Tyler Hickey. Senator goals were scored by rookie Corey turner, Gunner
Tobias, and Devin Greenfield.
BLACKHAWKS 3 FLYERS 1
The Blackhawks had goals from Troy Allen, Jordanna Whipple,
& Austin Furlong to hand the Flyers yet another loss. The lone Flyer goal was scored on rookie Seth Feasl's first
KFHL goal.
Monday Jan.
30th
SENATORS
6 BRUINS 2
The Senators took the lead in the first period
on two shorthanded goals by Cody Dixon, but the Bruins tied the game in the second period on scores by Matt Ramey and Cody
Sivyer. The Bruins put the game away in the third period on goals by Austin Tobias, Cody Dixon, and two by Nick Iszler.
BLACKHAWKS 3 KINGS 3
The Kings jumped off to a two goal lead on
scores by Clint Franklin and Samantha Denton in the first period. The Blackhawks tied it up on two Austin Furlong goals in
the second before the Kings Lyndsey Rhodes put them back in the lead with only 42 seconds to go in the period. The Blackhawks
Jordanna Whipple tied it up again to stay with her 9th goal of the season in the third.
RED WINGS 8 FLYERS 2
Red Wing fire power was too much for the Flyers as both Tyler Hickey and Slade
Meade had hat tricks in this one. Wing rookies Wyatt Ledford and Chris Pierce also had their first KFHL goals. The Flyers
had goals from rookies Mckenzie Davis and Megan Green
